Spain rewards drivers. With a rental car you can combine a city break with the coast, the mountains and the wine country at your own pace. Highways are good, the network is dense and a car turns a single-city trip into a proper road trip. We compare vetted local rental companies and book the right vehicle for you.
Where to rent a car in Spain
Barcelona is the natural starting point on the Mediterranean coast, with quick access to the Costa Brava, Montserrat and the Pyrenees. Pick your city above to see available cars, daily rates and conditions. More Spanish cities are added regularly.
Driving in Spain
Driving is on the right and motorways are a mix of free (autovías) and tolled (autopistas, peajes), with tolls paid by the driver. Major cities including Barcelona and Madrid run low-emission zones (ZBE) that restrict older cars on weekdays; every car we book is compliant, so you can drive into the centre without a fine.
What you need to rent
You need a passport or ID, a driving licence and a card for the deposit. EU and EEA licences are accepted directly; other visitors usually need an International Driving Permit. The minimum age is normally 21 and a young-driver fee can apply under 25. Mileage is usually unlimited.
Why book through rentacar-360
We compare vetted local rental companies in Spain instead of one fixed fleet, so you get a fair local price and clear terms. Deposit, mileage and insurance are agreed in writing before you pay and if your chosen car is unavailable you get the same class or better.
EU and EEA licences are accepted directly. Visitors from outside the EU usually need their national licence plus an International Driving Permit.
Many partners offer no-deposit rentals; others hold a small refundable deposit. The terms are confirmed before booking.
Usually 21 with at least one year of experience. A young-driver fee may apply under 25.
Some motorways charge peajes (tolls), paid by the driver. Big cities run low-emission zones (ZBE); every car we book is compliant.
