The UAE is built for driving. Wide, modern highways link the seven emirates, fuel is cheap and parking is easy, so a rental car is the simplest way to get around and to reach the desert, the coast and the mountains. We are a booking service: tell us the city, dates and class of car and we find an available vehicle from a vetted local rental company.
Where to rent a car in the UAE
Most visitors start in Dubai, where the fleet ranges from economy hatchbacks to Lamborghinis and Rolls-Royces. From there it is a short drive to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the east coast. Pick your city above to see available cars, daily rates and conditions.
Driving in the UAE
Driving is on the right, highways are excellent and speed limits are strictly enforced by camera. Salik road tolls (about 4–6 AED per gate) and any traffic fines during your rental are charged to the driver, usually through the deposit. Cars are supplied with a full tank and should be returned the same way.
What you need to rent
You need a passport, a driving licence and a card for the deposit. Visitors usually drive on a national licence plus an International Driving Permit; GCC residents and many European drivers use their home licence. The minimum age is typically 21–25 depending on the car class and premium cars may require more experience.
Why book through rentacar-360
We compare vetted local rental companies across the UAE instead of one fixed fleet, so you get a fair local price and clear terms. Deposit, mileage and insurance are agreed in writing before you pay and if your chosen car is unavailable you get the same class or better.
Tourists can usually drive on a valid national licence plus an International Driving Permit. GCC residents and many European drivers are accepted on their home licence. We confirm the requirement for your country.
Many partners offer no-deposit rentals; others hold a refundable deposit on your card. The exact terms are confirmed before booking.
Salik is the UAE's automatic road toll, around 4–6 AED per gate, charged to the driver during the rental. We explain this up front.
Yes. A car rented in Dubai can be driven to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates without restriction.
